ABOUT

BEX EHRMANN is a Chicago-based theatremaker, teaching artist, and writer. They create adventurous, entertaining work that invites audiences and readers to lean in and connect with new perspectives. Bex is particularly interested in telling stories that center queerness and Jewish identity. A recipient of fellowships from Luminarts Cultural Foundation and Lambda Literary, Bex is now an MFA candidate at Hamline University, where they study Writing for Children and Young Adults. Directorial projects include TWELFTH NIGHT (Midsommer Flight), A WRINKLE IN TIME and ALCHEMY OF DESIRE/DEAD-MAN'S BLUES (Northwestern), HERLAND (assistant director, Redtwist Theatre), and work with the New Colony, Chicago Dramatists, and many young Chicago companies. As a teaching artist, they have worked with many organizations that nurture the growth of young people, including About Face Theatre, Ag47 Arts Collective, jGirls+ Magazine, and Imagination Stage.
