Bex Ehrmann is a stage director and teaching artist based in Chicago. They create adventurous, entertaining theatre that invites audiences to lean in and connect with new perspectives. Bex is particularly interested in telling stories that center queerness, mental health, and Jewish identity. Projects include CHARRED (the Frontier), A WRINKLE IN TIME and ALCHEMY OF DESIRE/DEAD-MAN'S BLUES (Northwestern), HERLAND (assistant director, Redtwist Theatre), and work with the New Colony, Chicago Dramatists, Midsommer Flight, and many young Chicago companies. As an arts educator, Bex has worked with Chicago Public Schools, About Face Theatre, Ag47 Arts Collective, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and Maryland's Imagination Stage. They graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University's theatre program and received a 2019 Luminarts fellowship in creative writing.
